HISTORY
Govt. Arts and Science College, Kozhinjampara was established in 2005 as fulfilment of the long standing demand of local people for a college in the Tamil linguistic minority area of Kozhinjampara. In the effort to establish a government college in the area, a committee was formed under the chairmanship of the former MLA of Chittur Sri. K Achuthan by including local people and persons from the socio-political arena . At a time when the requirement of land became a hurdle, the committee members put their best efforts in mobilising fund for the purchase of land through contributions and donations from the nearby organisations, co-operative societies and general public. Some farmers voluntarily surrendered their land to the Government and the rest of the land was purchased and then surrendered to the Government. The unrelenting perseverance of the committee members finally paved the way for the establishment of Govt. Arts and Science College Kozhinjampara in the 2005. Ever since its inception, the college has been fortunate enough to get support, assistance and patronage from our beloved elected representatives in its journey towards infrastructure self-sufficiency. Some of the notable personalities include the erstwhile MLA of Chittur Sri.KAchuthan , the ex- MP of Palakkad Sri. N N Krishnadas, former Union Minister Sri. Vayalar Ravi, former Union Minister Sri. A K Antony, former MP Sri. P K Biju, present MLA of Chittur and Minister for Electricity Sri. K Krishnankutty , etc. The cooperation and support of Chittur Block Panchayath (President , Members and the BDO) are worth mentioning for providing their community hall for housing college activities for an initial period of three years.

- Ancient Indian scriptures pronounce three paths for self realisation :
- The path of work and duty ( Karma Margham)
- The path of devotion and worship ( Bakthi Margham)
- The path of knowledge and wisdom ( Jnana Margham )
- These paths are invariably hierarchical in nature and require the wise use of three realms of existence such as Body, Mind and Intellect.
- The blended union of Body, Mind and Intellect (BMI principle) is an integral aspect of human progress and realisation.
- We therefore advocate our learners to follow the Swadharma in their work and duty, selfless devotion to the Supreme Nature which is vital for their existence and the attainment of bliss through their intellect and wisdom ( SAT-CHIT-ANAND)
