: principalgasck@gmail.comThe Department of Tamil has been started in 2005 along with the College, till 2020 it offered only Common Course – Tamil Language for all UG courses. In 2020, B.A. (Tamil) was started. The U.G Programme offered by the department is B.A. Tamil with History and Economics Programme.
- To develop the ability to use the language effectively for the purpose of creativity and make them think and express ideas, sentiments in the language and to improve their reading and writing skill and also to strengthen student’s ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate all forms of literary expression.
Students are required to study the following types of courses:
- Common courses (To be studied by all UG students of B.A. / B.Com. / B.Sc.)
- Core courses (Tamil language literature, Tamil Grammar and literary criticism)
- Complimentary Courses (History and Economics)
- Open course (Courses offered by other departments in the college and the student can choose for learning)
- Audit courses (Topic which are concentrated on Nature, Environment and Public interest)
